General interest first aid courses for adults, children and babies
Every year, up to 150,000 people die in the UK in situations where first aid could have given them the chance to live. At a St John Ambulance first aid course, you'll learn vital skills to be the difference between life and death in an emergency. All of our community courses are non-profit making and the course price is inclusive of all administrative costs, course material and certification. You may purchase a voucher for any course - please call our office on 735611.
To book a place on any of these courses, please click on the 'Course Availability & Booking' tab on the right hand side of this page, then select your course and click on the orange 'Book a Course' button.
St John Ambulance welcomes young people from the age of 12 onto all our community first aid courses. If under the age of 16, you must attend with a responsible adult member of the family or guardian (two young people per adult).
The right course for you
We offer a variety of short training courses for members of the public. The courses differ slightly, but each of them will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to deal with both minor incidents and major emergencies, such as severe bleeding, heart attacks, choking and an unconscious casualty who has stopped breathing. On successful completion of the course you will be sent a St John Ambulance e-certificate which is valid for three years.
These courses are for general interest only and although they result in a certificate valid for three years, they do not fully meet workplace or vocational requirements.
* * Please note: If you book a place on a course and subsequently need to change the date or cancel please be aware there will be fees applicable as per our Terms & Conditions which can be seen on the 'Downloadable Documents' section at the bottom of this page. * *
