Friday 28th April 2017

D'Auvergne School Comp Winners 2017 with Chris Bester of JE

Congratulations to d’Auvergne School on winning this year’s Jersey Electricity-sponsored St John Ambulance Junior Schools First Aid Competition.

Former d’Auvergne Teaching Assistant Bernie Gavey, who leads the first aid course at the school during lunchtimes, said the Year Six winning team had been learning first aid for two years.

The winners were presented with their trophies and certificates at this morning’s Achievers' Assembly at D'Auvergne School by JE Health, Safety and Environment Engineer Chris Bester accompanied by St John Ambulance schools’ first aid trainer and competition organiser Frances Le Cornu.

Five teams of four faced several emergency scenarios during the competition held at the St John Ambulance HQ on Midvale Road yesterday and their competence in dealing with each incident against the clock was judged by St John Ambulance trainers and volunteers.

Plat Douet School were in second place and Beaulieu School came third.  Very well done to all the youngsters who took part in the 2017 competition.

Congratulations to d’Auvergne School on winning this year’s Jersey Electricity-sponsored St John Ambulance Junior Schools First Aid Competition.
